Peak cling is one of the adventurous and tough works to do in Nepal. Among the entire Island peak climbing is one of the popular climbing peaks of Everest regions. It has got its name island peak in 1952 AD because of the stunning location in the middle of the Chhukung valley which looks like the island on the sea of ice. Later on, it was renamed as Imja Tse though the peak is still popular by the original name. There are about 33 peaks at this region, among all 33 Peaks Island peak is one of the most popular peaks which will offer its climbers with the exhilarating and panoramic view of mountains along with the lifetime remembering the experience of mountain climbing. It is located at the Everest region at the height of 6160m above sea level. To climb on to this mountain, trekkers need a concentration of sound. We should acclimatize ourselves at different places for the better experience of surrounding environment.
The island peak climbing area begins with the flight over to Lukla from Kathmandu valley. From Lukla, the trekking route will follow the main route of Everest base camp through the Dingboche, Phortse, Lobuche Namche bazaar, and Khumjung and to the base camp of Everest Mountain. The returning way will be from the Pangboche and Tengboche which will unexpectedly arrive in Lukla and back to Kathmandu valley with the spectacular flight. Due to its high height, especially the month of January, February, March, April, May, June, July, October, November, December, is considered as the best and suitable month to do trekking at these regions. We will trek up to the maximum altitude of 6160m above sea level at the peak of island peak.

Day To Day Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu
After landing the flight at TIA, a representative of Everest Trekking Routes will warmly receive you and will move towards the hotel arranged by the agency. We will enjoy a delicious dinner at night with a brief description of the upcoming trekking program to Manasalu trekking region.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding
Early morning, we will catch the flight to Lukla from Kathmandu valley. During our flight, we will enjoy the view of the great ranges of the mountain through the flight. The view of snow capped mountains from the top will be surely interesting. After landing at Lukla, we will move towards the Phakding following the main route. The trekking goes for about 3 to 4 hours and we will stay the night there.
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
From Phakding, we will continue our journey in the early morning. We will move toward Namche Bazaar and phenomenon goes for about 5 to 6 hours. The route follows the Dudh Koshi River which will lead us to enter into the Sagarmatha national park. Continuing our trail, we will reach to Phakding through the main trail. The night will be interesting at Namche Bazaar at 3440m.
Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Dole
From Namche Bazaar, the trail goes steeply to Kyangjuma village from where we can see a splendid view of mountains ranges all around us. We will have our lunch on the way to reach Dole. The admirable view around the trail will surely cool us. The way to reach Dole goes with the combination of Mountain View along with some beautiful scene of waterfalls and forests. We will stay the night at Dole by enjoying.
Day 05: Dole to Machherma
From Dole, at first, the path is steep to the Lhabarma at the altitude of 4220m to Luza at 4360m. The trail will offer us many glimpses view of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku. While trekking in this region we need to acclimatize ourselves with the increasing altitudes. After a long walk of about 4 to 5 hours, we will be able to reach Machherma at the altitude of 4410m.
Day 06: Machherma to Gokyo
Early morning, after breakfast we will walk toward the Gokyo from Machherma. We will walk down to the river and then begins to climb over to Ngozumpa glacier. Viewing the spectacular scenery around this region, we will move forward through the main route. We can visit all around the lakes of Gokyo if we got some leisure time. The night will be panoramic at Gokyo at 4794m.
Day 07: Gokyo rest day
Today is taken as a rest day. But we can explore all around the place later in the day. We will climb up to the peak of Gokyo to get the splendid view of other mountain ranges all around us. After viewing some incredible view from the peak, we will come back to Gokyo where we will spend the night again in an interesting way.
Day 08: Gokyo to Na
From Gokyo, we will hike towards the Gokyo Ri to 5496m. From here we can get the splendid view of mountain ranges including the highest peak of the world. A hike for about 2 hours will take us to the top. We will return back to Gokyo and again trek towards Na the same day. The night will be at Na at the altitude of 4390m.
Day 09: Nah to Phortse
From Na, we will walk downward to Phortse following the way opposite to Dudh Koshi River. The path is regarded as the easy path as it goes flatter for some while. Then a steep down track through the village will lead us to the Phortse. Phortse is a magnificent village situated under the shadows of huge mountains at the height of 3542m.
Day 10: Trek to Dingboche
From Phortse, early morning, we will move to the Dingboche following the path viewing some panoramic view of mountain ranges of Khumbu region. We can spend a day or two days at Dingboche. But as A Nepal Everest Base Camp Trekking suggests we will continue our way without resting the day at Dingboche at 4336m.
Day 11: Dingboche to Lobuche
From Dingboche, we will continue walking to Lobuche after crossing several bridges of the way. We will pass along the Khumbu glacier to Lobuche. After walking for some time from Lobuche, we will reach to Nuptse. From here we can get the spectacular view of sunrise and sunsets. The night will be enjoying at Lobuche after a trekking of about 4 to 5 hours.
Day 12: Lobuche to Kalapatthar and Gorakshep
We will start our walk a bit earlier than ever as we need to pass a long distance. At first, we will walk to the west side going steeper before reaching to Gorakshep. The whole day we will see the spectacular view of the great ranges of mountains all around us. After spending some hour at Gorak Shep, we will resume to Kalapatthar to the height of 5600m. From here the crystal clear view of Mount Everest can be seen. We will spend the cold night at Gorak Shep at camp in a tent.
Day 13: Gorak Shep to Everest base camp and to Lobuche
This day is also the long trekking day as so we move early in the morning to the Everest base camp. The 3-hour walk to the snowy path will be enough to reach Everest base camp. After spending some incredible moments at Everest base camp, we will return back to Lobuche in the same way. The walk goes for about 8 to 10 hours.
Day 14: Lobuche to Chhukung
From Lobuche, we will trek through the Khumbu glaciers to Kongma la base camp. We will climb to the top to Kongma pass from where we will make a gradual descent to the beautiful valley of Imja Khola to Chhukung. The night will be interesting at Chhukung at 4730m.
Day 15: Chhukung to Island peak base camp
From Chhukung, we resume early morning journey to the island peak base camp. We will walk in a snowy way through the Lhotse glaciers. We will reach island peak base camp after the walk of about 3 to 4 hours. Due to its toughness, the short distance is also tiresome so we will rest at island peak base camp.
Day 16: island peak base camp to High camp
From the base camp, we will move to the beautiful but very tough way of the high camp. We will trek following the path to the high camp. The night will be at the high camp at the height of 5600m after the trekking of about 3 to 4 hours on the snowy path.
Day 17: High camp to summit and back to Chhukung
Today is the main day of our long trekking so we will wake up early in the morning to continue our climbing. We will be eager to achieve the height at the peak of Island peak. We will walk the rough way to the top from where we will view the most spectacular view of the surrounding. We will surely enjoy the summit views and will return soon from the top towards the high camp and base camp and up to the Chhukung to spend the night.
Day 18: Chhukung to Namche Bazaar
After achieving our dream project of the tour, we will walk following the path to Imja Khola which will later join Dudh Khola. We will walk on an easy track to Chhukung for about 8 to 9 hours. The returning journey will be fantastic because we have a sense of pleasure in our heart. We will enjoy the breeze of the air heating us while returning the Namche Bazaar. We will have a resting night at Namche Bazaar which will be interesting.
Day 19: Namche Bazaar to Lukla
From Namche Bazaar, we will walk to the smooth surface of the Everest region. We will make the journey entertaining by viewing the surrounding area by interacting with the people with us. Therefore a relaxed journey of about 6 to 7 hours from Namche Bazaar will guide us to Lukla. The last dinner in the land of the Himalayas will be at Lukla.
Day 20: Lukla to Kathmandu
From Lukla, we will catch the early flight to Kathmandu valley as the climate may become worse later in the day. We will be at Kathmandu valley within the passage of several minutes. After landing at Kathmandu valley, we will move towards the hotel room and enjoy the leisure time at Kathmandu. We will have a success party at the night at the hotel in Kathmandu valley.
Day 21: Farewell
After having a night rest at Kathmandu, we will pack our luggage to march ourselves towards the international airport of Nepal. We have to reach at the airport 3 hours before the flight. We will attend a small farewell program organized by Everest Trekking Routes After then we will catch the flight to return back to the home country.
